About Kim

Kim is a Health and Physical Education teacher, department head, and coach with 19 years of experience. Along with teaching full-time, she has coached a variety of middle school and high school sports including wrestling, field hockey, and girls tennis, while also developing strength training programs for multiple athletic teams.

Kim is also a certified personal trainer and previously held her CSCS certification through the NSCA.

Goals & Mission

β€œMy approach is honest, straightforward, and down to earth while creating achievable goals for each student whether in PE or athletics.

I work to create open communication among my students and encourage them to ask questions and be themselves. I like to encourage students to step outside of their comfort zones.”

How I Use PLT4M

β€œFor PE, I use the academic options for students who are injured, along with yoga, strength training, and flexibility programs during fitness center time.

I use both ready-made workouts and programs I create myself. I also use the K–5 curriculum in my adapted PE class.

For athletics, I have built many of my own programs in PLT4M for the athletes I’ve trained throughout the years while also combining ready-made and custom programming.”

Why I Use PLT4M

β€œPLT4M is a great tool for creating workouts and organizing students in a simple way.

You can use pre-made PLT4M programs or create your own. The videos provide students with immediate form instruction and allow students to have their workouts with them at all times.

It is user-friendly and students really seem to enjoy it.”

Impact on My Program

β€œThere is much less wasted time in the fitness center now.

Students know they must actively engage in PLT4M while they are in the weight room, and athletes are no longer spending valuable time recording lifts in notebooks.

I also love that students can preview workouts using the videos.”
