Rachelβs Approach & Insights
Rachel shared her philosophy, approach, and how PLT4M plays a role in her program. Hereβs what she had to say:
Goals & Mission
βHigh expectations and equitable access go hand-in-hand.
My goal is to provide every student with meaningful physical education experiences that balance standards-based instruction with engaging activities. I want students to discover the joy of movement, build confidence in their abilities, and develop healthy habits that can last a lifetime.β
How I Use PLT4M
βI utilize PLT4Mβs Kβ5 curriculum as a complete, organized pathway that streamlines lesson planning and cuts my prep time in half.
In my diverse school setting, the programβs flexible library of resources and built-in visual slides allow me to deliver highly skill-based and accessible lessons. This helps me maintain high expectations while ensuring every student can visualize success, stay focused, and have fun.β
Why I Use PLT4M
βPLT4M gives me the tools to help a diverse student body feel confident and successful.
I teach at a Title I school with many English-language learners, which means lessons need to be accessible, engaging, and meaningful for every student regardless of background.
The built-in lesson slides help students understand what they will be doing, learn key cues, and visualize success before they even begin. This has helped students stay focused while making lessons more engaging and effective.β
Impact on My Program
βThe biggest impact PLT4M has had is cutting my planning time in half while elevating the quality of my program through organized lesson plans and adaptable skills assessment tools.
Β
This allows me to focus more on teaching, building relationships, and creating a positive classroom culture.
Β
Ultimately, it has given students a clear and visual path to build confidence and feel successful in every lesson. Because of this, I have seen a huge increase in student engagement, skill development, and concept knowledge.β
Favorite Feature
βMy favorite feature is the Kβ5 library, specifically the combination of built-in visual slides and adaptable skills assessment tools that allow me to easily track student performance.
Β
The structured curriculum has replaced hours of research with a clear path forward while helping me maintain high expectations and deliver an equitable, fun, and highly skill-based PE program.β
