Joshuaβs Approach & Insights
Joshua shared his philosophy, approach, and how PLT4M plays a role in his program. Hereβs what he had to say:
Goals & Mission
βMy goal is that by the time students graduate, they have an understanding of the importance of maintaining their health and wellness, as well as how to do it safely and appropriately.
This includes educating students on social, emotional, and mental health, while also teaching them about the role physical activity and nutrition play in maintaining overall wellness.β
How I Use PLT4M
βI use PLT4M to deliver training workouts and track progress.
The data is used for goal setting, and there are assignments that can be assigned to students as makeup work for missed class.β
Why I Use PLT4M
βPLT4M is a comprehensive physical education and health curriculum platform that allows teachers to provide differentiation between students, courses, and schools while still providing unified and scaffolded curriculum options across an entire district.β
Impact on My Program
βPLT4M has allowed our students at METRO to engage in physical education options that they are personally more comfortable and interested in participating in.
Many of our students have had adverse experiences within PE, and being able to foster a safe and inclusive setting has been greatly supported through the implementation of PLT4M in our classroom.β
Favorite Feature
βThe personalized workout builder and the pre-developed options that make it easy to offer a variety of physical education opportunities for students with differing skill levels and interests.β
