Douglas’s Approach & Insights
Douglas shared his philosophy, approach, and how PLT4M plays a role in his program. Here’s what he had to say:
Goals & Mission
“My goal is to help students build a positive, lifelong relationship with physical activity.
I try to create a space where students feel safe to take risks, develop practical health literacy, and build character through teamwork and resilience.
Ultimately, I want them to leave with the confidence and skills to take ownership of their own long-term well-being.”
How I Use PLT4M
“I uploaded our weight room program into PLT4M for my Performance PE classes.
Students enter their max lifts at the beginning of the semester, then log in daily to access workouts and record their individualized data.
The program charts their progress over the course of the semester and adjusts their maxes weekly according to the results of daily workouts. Students can then enter new max lifts after each testing cycle.”
Why I Use PLT4M
“PLT4M has been a user-friendly way for us to help pull technology into our PE program.
It has also been very helpful for us to collect, organize, and publish workout data for students.”
Impact on My Program
“PLT4M has been a great way to collect, organize, and publish workout data for students.
It has also been an excellent method for incorporating technology into physical education.”
Favorite Feature
“I enjoy all of it.”
