Kimberlyβs Approach & Insights
Kimberly shared her philosophy, approach, and how PLT4M plays a role in her program. Hereβs what she had to say:
Goals & Mission
βThe overall goal for my students in physical education and health is to empower them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make healthy choices, stay physically active, and support their mental, emotional, and social well-being throughout their lives.β
How I Use PLT4M
βIn my PE classes, I use PLT4M to structure workouts, guide instruction, and help students take ownership of their learning.
In Class Mode, I can project and lead the whole group through a workout step-by-step, making it easy to teach proper form, pacing, and key fitness language in real time.
Β
For small group work, I use Rack View so students can rotate through stations or strength racks independently while still following a clear, organized program.β
Why I Use PLT4M
βPLT4M is fun to use and is an online platform designed for PE and health teachers that helps plan workouts, track student progress, and deliver more structured, personalized fitness programs.
I like PLT4M because it helps me turn fitness into something students truly understand and take ownership of. It reinforces proper form and gives students the language to talk about what theyβre doing, which makes their learning more meaningful.
Most importantly, it allows students to work more independently while I spend my time coaching, guiding, and building connections instead of just managing the class.β
Hereβs an example of a video breaking down air squat form and technique that helps build confidenceβjust like Kimberly uses in her classes.
Impact on My Program
βThe biggest impact on my students is helping them move with purpose and confidence. Theyβve developed a stronger understanding of proper form and learned the various fitness terms, so they can talk about and apply what theyβre doing, not just go through the motions.
Β
Most importantly, itβs fostered independence, empowering them to take ownership of their workouts and build habits they can carry beyond class.β
Favorite Feature
βI really like Rack View; students form small groups, workout independently, and can log their data and weights individually.
I also like introducing key concepts using Class Mode. My classes are engaged and follow the technique, tips, and practice drills/workouts.β
