Brandonβs Approach & Insights
Brandon shared his philosophy, approach, and how PLT4M plays a role in his program. Hereβs what he had to say:
Goals & Mission
βMy overall goal in physical education is to give my students the skills and knowledge necessary to participate in a health-enhancing level of physical activity throughout their adult lives.
Whether it be PE classes, health classes, or athletic fields, I want students to understand the importance of leading physically active lives.β
How I Use PLT4M
βI use PLT4M from Kindergarten all the way through a studentβs senior year.
Elementary classes are given instruction through Presentation Mode. As students enter junior high and high school, they begin accessing their own content through the districtβs 1-to-1 devices.β
Why I Use PLT4M
βPLT4M is a tool that serves Kβ12 physical education as a whole.
Whether you are a one-person district trying to provide quality content, or a large district trying to build consistency within your department, PLT4M is the tool for you.β
Impact on My Program
βPLT4M provides me with quality Kβ12 PE content and an easy means to deliver that content.
With those two things in place, I can focus on teaching and the growth of my students.
PLT4M has also provided me with a consistent means to assess my students. The assessments within each unit give me valuable data that either validates student growth or allows me to reevaluate my teaching methods.β
Favorite Feature
βThe instructional videos are by far my favorite feature in PLT4M.
Students today are becoming more visual learners first, and PLT4M helps me lean into that trend and provide effective instruction.β
