PLT4M COACHES CLUB: ADAM HUGHES
Adam trained in college under world renowned Strength and Conditioning Expert Mike Barwis. He also played football at West Virginia University. Currently trains 27 sports at Canton High School year round.
As a wellness teacher and strength and conditioning coach, it is a true joy to wake up every single day with a burning fire and passion to go and impact the lives of students and student-athletes. Continually finding ways to tap into the mental mindset of young athletes is an ever changing approach that is so unique and something that I truly aspire to deliver every day in every training session.
The use of PLT4M in my coaching and training has opened so many doors and avenues for both my students and student-athletes to develop such a high quality level of self-autonomy and awareness. PLT4M has changed the mindset of many students in my wellness classes and has helped them change critical life habits simply by helping to teach them base foundational movements with correct form to grow their personal confidence in what they do to improve their personal level of fitness.
In the realm of Strength and Conditioning PLT4M has helped tremendously to unify all of our sports across every season and through the summer. Our athletes are carrying themselves with such a great level of confidence and are experiencing championship caliber success throughout the entire year because in part of the constant high level of training that PL4M is helping to bring them.
The growth that our students and student-athletes are seeing as a result of having PLT4M as a consistent driving force to their training is unparalleled and is remarkable.
WHY DO YOU WORK WITH STUDENTS?
Working with students is truly an incredible experience. To see them excel and succeed physically and mentally beyond what they ever comprehended they were capable of and then to watch them take that level of success and apply it to either their specific sport or life is beyond unique.
The growth a student can have in so many ways as a result of learning how to properly work out and lead a healthy lifestyle through fitness and strength and conditioning is not only the physical result but it’s the life lessons they learn in the process.
Seeing a student learn how to be resilient and grow through success as well as failure in the focus of fitness and strength and conditioning is truly impressive.
“The will to win is important, but the will to prepare is vital”
