About Shaun
Shaun Dascher teaches 9-12 Physical Education and serves as Department Chair at Freeport High School in Illinois, where he has 16 years of experience. He came to teaching from a background in baseball, coaching six seasons at the collegiate level before starting in the classroom in 2015, and his knowledge has broadened since through his experience in public education and coaching. Shaun uses PLT4M most in Freeport’s Advanced PE sections, essentially a strength and sports performance class, where students track their own data and PLT4M’s leaderboards create healthy, internal competition.
Shaun’s Approach & Insights
Shaun shared his philosophy, approach, and how PLT4M plays a role in his program. Here’s what he had to say:
Goals & Mission
“Continue to personally improve each class. The ability for students to see material in a variety of ways is beneficial. PLT4M helps achieve the display of materials.”
How I Use PLT4M
“Our Advanced PE sections utilize PLT4M the most. This is essentially a strength/sports performance class. This allows data to be tracked with the responsibility of the student. The leaderboards help create internal, healthy competition.”
Why I Use PLT4M
“PLT4M is a great way to streamline programs, provide clarity with transparency, and track data β even while remote.”
Impact on My Program
“Centralized data tracking.”
Favorite Feature
“Multiple ways to learn β examples: strength, sport units, health, etc.”
